Our long term commitment to pushing air-cushion vehicle technology forward is moving into a new phase today!

Our ASV client have seen the true value our unique, quiet yet more robust ACV technology can bring to first responders, commuters, explorers and military planners with unprecedented asymmetric amphibious mobility.

This next phase of development will complete the actual propulsion module of the next generation of ACV. This stage will allow validation to the latest CF fan lift and propulsion geometry and its convention breaking "weight to HP" advantage. This entirely new light aircraft propulsion is being done without the use of 100+ year old propellers or their unfriendly noise and exposed blades.

A most impressive and locally grown innovation to this long needed breakthrough

Io Design unveils the next form of light aircraft propulsion in its new ASV-X1.

Covington, LA- Advanced marine design firm Industrial Object, announces its new patent pending quiet fan propulsion innovation.  Director of design David Carambat, states "Now an efficient and environmentally friendly solution to amphibious and waterway mobility is available." The company may have re-written the possibilities of light aircraft propulsion and opening the door to many new forms of personal freedom and travel.

This initial demonstrator of the new "Above Surface Vehicle" or ASV-X1 is built around the patent pending "Ballistic Fan". Powered by twin VW TDI Diesel engines and a one of a kind air-flow control system the ASV-X1 will be as easy to operate as a conventional boat. With a composite cored hull and fully enclosed cabin designed for low maintenance and durability, the ASV-X1 is the first  totally new ACV design in over 35 years. Measuring a trailerable 10' wide by 35' long. With its twin 60" diameter centrifugal fans mounted to the reliable diesels, this is going to be one serious go-anywhere cruiser

The ASV-X1 has an internal 30 gallon tank with easy cabin access via cargo Helicopter-like sliding side doors.  No other surface ACV can match the "prop-less" propulsion system and its total 360 degree thrust venting controllability. These robust ASV's can be deployed by trailers or air-dropped. It also has an entirely unmanned autonomous option by cellular remote control of its state of the art fly-by-wire thrust and brake venting system.

“The ASV is a wonderfully new environmentally friendly solution that is the culmination of a decade's efforts to perfect an effective and quieter alternative to all other ACV, Air-boats and light air-craft in use today,” Carambat said.

Here are two optional concept designs that our recent development will make possible:

The GTX or DARPA TX program concept:

The CASPOR UAV with total Urban and Jungle mobility:

Industrial Objects headquartered in Covington, Louisiana, is a privately-owned Advanced Marine design and production company. Founded in response to asymetric threats of small watercraft to the US Navy and the special boat needs of SOCOM for small attack craft in the early 90's. Io Design has provided advanced high performance marine designs to governments and private clients for over 25 years.
