This Io Yacht Design, 80-knot, 36m (118') surface effect ship represents the third generation of this type developed for U.S. military and commercial use. The new yacht is derived from the successful 33.5m (110') SES used by the U.S. Coast Guard division for illegal drug interdiction in the Caribbean and employs a cushion of air trapped between catamaran sidehulls and stern seals.
